Game of Thrones author says Winds of Winter could be longest book yet

George RR Martin takes to his “not a blog” to give another update on The Winds of Winter, saying that the sixth ASOIAF book will be the biggest.

Martin’s series of fantasy novels began in 1996 with the publication of a game of thrones. In the aftermath of the first ASOIAF novel, subsequent books were published every few years until the six-year gap between the fourth and fifth books. In a Martin post, the writer once again addressed questions about the winter winds. Revealing that his penultimate novel will be very big, Martin went on to say the winter winds can even be bigger than a storm of swords Y A dance with dragons. Martin’s full comment can be read below:

The Winds of Winter is going to be a great book. As it stands, it could be bigger than A Storm of Swords or A Dance with Dragons, the longest books in the series to date. I usually cut and trim once I’m done, but I need to finish first.

By context, a storm of swords‘the number of pages is 973, while A dance with dragons is 1,040. In the past, Martin has said the winter winds it’s meant to run around 1,500 pages. He even admitted that his publishers suggested he split the book, as there’s a good chance it will go further. Given the amount of time he had, the fact that he wrote hundreds of pages during the pandemic, and all the threats from the ASOIAF plot, the winter winds should be a great book. After what many are calling one of the worst endings of all time for a television series, there is enormous pressure on Martin to deliver with the winter winds Y a spring dream.

These programs include work titled 9 trips, flea background, Tales of Dunk and EggY 10,000 ships. Season 1 of the upcoming series will consist of 10 episodes and will premiere on August 21 on HBO.
