The Val Verde Unified School District is having internet problems that are affecting its networks, connections and phones.
The full impact on students and staff was unclear Friday, May 13.
The Perris-based district “experienced a computer network disruption,” spokesperson Maximiliano Garcia wrote Friday in an email.
This same message was visible on Val Verde’s websites Friday.
Garcia’s email did not include specifics. When asked for further information, he did not respond Friday afternoon. Val Verde school board members could not be reached for comment Friday.
It’s not clear when or how the issues started.
A Facebook post from the Val Verde Elementary School PTO, a non-profit group comprised of parents and teachers, reposted a Wednesday, May 11, message from the district that cited “large technical issues.”
The district’s post said the problem affected its internet and phones, but said schools could still call for emergency assistance if needed.
“The timeframe for restoration of services has yet to be determined,” read the post, which thanked the community for its patience.
The school district serves parts of Perris, Moreno Valley and the Mead Valley area.
