You need to pick up this new activity book

Marvel activity books are a time-honored tradition, as I feel like I’ve been buying them for my entire 38 years on this earth. Even before I read my first comic, Marvel heroes taught me about colors, vocabulary, and more through word searches, brain teasers, and how-to-draw books. Abrams has released a new activity book, the Marvel Big Book of Fun and Games, and I can’t stress enough how great it is. We were sent a copy of the book to review, and our spider-sense shuddered from the moment we opened the cover.

Marvel returns to the fun

With an introduction by Roy Thomas, this book features so many different puzzles that will make your head spin. “The Hulk overcomes all challenges and helps your favorite Marvel characters conquer the most amazing and fast-paced puzzles and games in the Multiverse. Journey through Doctor Strange’s mystical labyrinth, unscramble Spider-Man’s webs of words, weather the quest and…find, do word searches faster than Falcon and learn how to conjure the Scarlet Witch – all you need is a pencil.” And it’s true, from word searches and scrambles to picture puzzles and instructional drawing pages, this is a dream book for a Marvel fan of any age. There are also some deep dive characters; It’s not just Spidey, Hulk, Cap, Iron Man, etc. It’s a real treat and a cool introduction to some of the deepest corners of the Marvel universe proper, all while giving your brain a workout too.

I don’t have a single art bone in my body, but my 9-year-old daughter does, and she enjoys flipping through the art pages as we do a one-word puzzle a night together. It’s made for a pretty nifty bedtime treat, and it can’t be beat as an introduction to the universe. She asks questions about who she doesn’t know, which leads to some very interesting conversations.

I really can’t recommend this enough for any Marvel fan, at any age. It’s available now, and the best part is that it’s only $15. Grab it and have fun.
